Miriam
was born in Manila, Philippines. Her father, John Shull,
is a retired U.S. Army officer. Her mother, Mila Tidon-Shull, was originally from Los
Banos, Laguna. She has an older sister, Minnie, who owns InterSat, a local Internet Service Provider in San
Antonio. Miriam attended the International School and Colegio de San Agustin before leaving the Philippines at age 12. She got her Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Texas in Austin. She currently works as a Construction Inspector, 374th Civil Engineer Squadron, Yokota AB, Japan.
